Hello, my name is Carl and I enjoy using AI/ML to transform data into actionable solutions.
There is so much data available today, in quantities and types that were not easily accessible and/or practical until recently. It can be one of the most valuable assets a company possesses, if used in the right way.
I have been working with big data since the beginning of my professional career, when I started out in the Healthcare Industry in the Actuarial domain. Back then, there was no “mainstream” Data Science field and an Actuarial profession seemed like a good career to apply my passion for mathematics. However, as the field of Data Science began to take shape, I found that I wanted to build upon my mathematical foundation and become involved in the quickly evolving world of AI and Machine Learning.
Fast forward to today, and I have had the privilege of working as a Data Scientist in a range of corporate environments, from a large National 70,000-employee Fortune 500 Company to a small 300-employee Tech Startup as it went through its IPO.
My most recent achievement was as the lead architect behind Getaround’s Trustscore 2.0 AI which was developed to significantly mitigate auto-insurance claims risk on the platform (one of the company’s largest cost centers).
